Skincare Routine for Acne-prone Skin

skincare routine for acne prone skin

Remember the time

Throwing it back to a year ago, my skin was all over the place, breakouts were appearing everyday and my confidence was slowly going down. For a while I had no idea what I was supposed to do, I was cleaning my face properly, not wearing makeup (sometimes) but nothing helped.
Until I sat down in front of my computer and researched for about two weeks what I needed to do to have better skin.

In June 2018, I shared pictures of the evolution of my skin and how important having a good skincare routine was. Something I learned is that just because some products work for other people doesn't mean they will have the same effect on you.

The Time is Now

Here we are, a year later. I still have breakouts from time to time, I still have acne scarring, I still have discoloration. But it's nothing compared to what my skin went through a year ago. So here we are with a new skincare routine.

Go Clean

Living in London, my skin is victim of the pollution, which is why I find it crucial to clean my skin perfectly before hydrating it the right way.
I'm at a point where I definitely understand the importance of using products that are as clean and natural as possible. It's difficult because the more natural, the more expensive a product and I'm definitely still a millennial on a budget. I like to watch my face with the EVOLVE Daily Detox Facial Wash, for normal-oily skin. It's the perfect everyday wash if you have oily skin, cleanses perfectly without being too aggressive.

CBD Skincare

I've been using the Kat's Naturals Skin Serum everyday for the past four months and it is amazing. A product I highly highly recommend. It does have CBD in it so I don't know if you can have access to it in your country, but if you do, don't hesitate. It's a great moisturizer but CBD in skincare has anti-inflammatory properties and it has really helped with redness and preventing acne.

Wear your SPF

I wear SPF 50 everyday single day of the year on my face. The La Roche Posay Fluid is amazing because it melts into the skin really well without leaving any white marks on the face. I obviously wear SPF to protect my skin from sun damage but also to keep my acne scars from getting darker. As great as Vitamin D is for our health, we have to be careful and make sure we don't get too much sun because it can quickly have damaging effects.

The Star of the Show

The Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is magical. I have putting the purchase off because I always wondered if it would actually help or if my acne will pass. Well, the answer if both. Even though my acne is not as bad as it used ot be, it's still here, especially during that time of the month. Overnight, this significantly dries and shrinks any spot I apply this on. If you've been wanting to buy this, just for it, you won't regret it!

  1. aziderm cream medication is used to treatment of mild to moderate acne. It works by reducing the amount of acne-causing bacteria on the skin and by helping to keep your pores open and unblocked, thus decreasing the number of acne pimples. It belongs to a class of drugs known as dicarboxylic acids.
