French Pharmacy Skincare Must-Haves

A Suitcase Full of Skincare

French people who live in the UK always travel back to the UK with their suitcases full of something they love and have a hard time getting here, for me that's my French pharmacy skincare. I've had my luggage be overweight because I wanted to take too much back and honestly that's probably my best personality trait... loving skincare too much.

French Pharmacy Skincare: A Love Story

I remember watching British or American vloggers raving about french pharmacy skincare and not understanding why and one day I realised that it was all I ever bought. I grew up using the Bioderma Micellar water and up until I moved to London, it was definitely the only place where I would buy my skincare.

My Favourite French Pharmacy Skincare

Bioderma Micellar Water - A product I always have in my beauty cabinet (and probably will for a long time). This is the product that introduced me to skincare, although I wasn't wearing a lot of makeup. I used to use this morning and night to cleanse my face and to this day, it's still my favourite micellar water. It's really gentle on the skin, doesn't have a strong scent and is a good first cleanse if you don't want to go for an oily one.

Bioderma Sebium Face Wash is the product that really helped my skin when I was starting to struggle with acne in my early 20s. Back when I was breaking out because of my oily skin, this one really helped regulate my skin's oil production and I saw a real difference in my breakouts. I would only recommend using this product if you have oily skin, if not it can easily damage your skin barrier.

Avène Cicalfate is my best friend when I have acne scarring or for a fresh post-inflammation treatment. To me, this is the product that paved the way for cult-classics like Dr Jart's Cicapair. I use this balm on my face but also on my body if I ever have bug-bites or scars that I want to heal faster. This is one of my favourite night treatments, I don't think I've not had this in my cabinet for the past 4 years at least.

La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50+ is my one true love when it comes to SPF. This year, I've been branching out and trying to SPFs but this is still my all-time favourite. The texture is so light and works perfectly with skin type and tone. I know that when I go back to France this summer, I'll bring back a few of these.

Nuxe Rêve de Miel is the superior lip balm for me, my ride or die, the one I always need to have. I'm one of those people who has about 5 different lip balms open at all times, depending on the bag I'm packing, if I have lipstick on and so many other factors that no one really cares about. But applying is an actual part of my skincare routine. It's the last thing I do before I head to bed and the last step of my morning skincare routine. Not only are my lips hydrated with this one, but they're really soft and plump. Again, I don't know if I can go without this lip balm from here on now.
